On another forum it seems that many are really piling it on the former PCGS company and its founder and are suggesting that "perhaps" PCGS guarantees would not be treated as "valid" or "up to par" with other TPGs. I have ZERO involvement with the former PCGS, or the new Legacy Grading; nor do I own stock in either nor do I push PCGS graded notes. I'm a collector and for the past 40+ years I have ALWAYS bought the note and not the holder !! Besides, when I began we didn't have TPGs and we learned to grade notes ourselves. My comment was simply my answer to those who question the PCGS grades; and to those who feel they have to break notes out of PCGS holders and send them to PMG for "validation"; go for it--it is your money after all; and I harbor not hard feelings nor ill will if one chooses to do so.
Thanks for the verification, i was just curious, because some seem that Buying PCGS notes would be risky because theres longer a population Report to compare with, but here again we are talking about the note Not the holder, and since it is in a PCGS holder, my confidence would Be high that they would maintain grade even during a cross over to PMG or Legacy, but as we know in the grading game a one point drop Could potentially cost you major dollars. I have allot of PCGS sets so breaking them up and sending them off to another TPG, would not interest me as it would be like starting The process over again, getting to old for that...LOL Here,s a couple of my top dogs in MPC
Today's new pickup is another obsolete from Somerset and Worcester Savings Bank, this one a deuce. Just a one sided printing, but still excellent engraving from ABNCo and a large red overprint protector. Looks like a manual later issue from the bank with the date overwritten seemingly with the same pen as the serial was issued.
That's a really nice number. Not only low, but also binary. Next time, try starting a new thread for questions on value. Here's a 3 digit serial number $20 on ebay (also happens to be the same number as yours, only a different series year): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Binary-Low...207471?hash=item3d850cb4af:g:ypQAAOSwDGtcffTs Your note is definitely worth more than face- looks like around $40-$60.
Today's new pickup is another entry in the denomination parade from the Someset and Worcester Savings Bank in Maryland, this time my favorite denomination, this sharp $3. Everything great about the two is here in the three - ABNCo engraving quality, great layout, colorful overprint, and hey... it's three, it's one more than two...
Well, if he just acquired them... this is sort of the thread... Speaking of acquired, let's close out the new pickups of Somerset and Worcester shall we, at least until other variants come up? Here's the five, and of course it's got ABNCo quality on it, some cows, and the engraving at bottom left will appear often on notes ABNCo does around the world...
A few that arrived within the last week. The Congo note cost a few bucks. Got the two recent ones for peanuts.
Great notes lately, everyone! But I am really liking the Belgian Congo note, Muzyck! I've yet to get any Belgian Congo issued notes.
