I know that the 1968 S Proof with no S is very valuable - I have also seen that there is a RPM S for that years proofs. I have two 1968 Proof sets my dad bought so I started looking at them. Mint set A discussed here seems to have "weird" S's on the dime, the penny, and the Kennedy Half dollar. On these three the top loop of the S is filled in like a cud or something and the bottom loop has a little nub connected at the top of the loop. I took the plastic cover off to get some shoots but it very hard to for me to get a good pic because of all of the reflections - will try some other lighting tomorrow. - anyway - if you can tell from the pics if there is a possibility of a RPMs Dime looks like an 002 variety, from what I have seen. Thanks Mike
Just a little tip. After uploading all your pictures push the full image button on each one so we don't have to rummage through the thumbnails.
They look normal to me, too. Don't forget that the mintmarks were hand-punched into the dies back then, so some variation is to be expected. Chris
Yes please, I have gotten to the point I seldom bother to look at thumbnail images. Especially if a lot are posted in a thread.
Aloy.. you need to start your very own unique thread. Why did you post here?.. It looks like a stain to me.
