    John Skelton Morgan man!

Where do you like to go to get your coins? I've been to a local coin show twice, visited a local dealer, yesterday went to my first coin club, and have been to two coin auctions. I like the shows because there you can talk to the dealers, and the auctions I've been to can net you some good coins cheap and there's a lot of variety. The dealer I go to doesn't always have what I'm looking for, but he is good for information. And I met some good people at the coin club, and didn't realize they also held auctions.

So do you go to all of them equally, or are there some places you prefer to go for obtaining coins. Or maybe you just get everything online by mail order? I'm just interested in what you think is the best place to get coins for your collection.

It depends what you're looking for but there's no reason not to use all resources. Online you can browse 10s of thousands of coins really quickly on eBay, Great Collections, Heritage, Stacks, David Lawrence etc. LCS and local shows are hit and miss, there's some good ones and good dealers, but there are bad ones as well. If you like the show no reason not to go to it and use the internet in the mean time between.

Not using all options is really just limiting yourself and your selection.

Agree with what baseball21 said. I recently started looking at auction offerings and have actually won several at favorable prices including the buyer's fee. You may also find Ebay sellers who have their own websites too. You might find better prices on their own websites and save a few bucks that way.
