Hey everybody, The release of the much-anticipated book "Coin Photography" (Goodman) has been delayed until the first week of May. Holding my breath... turning blue... hya:
Bummer. I ordered the book from Amazon (on backorder awaiting its release). Guess I'll have to wait a little longer.
book name whats the nam and author of the book so I can put is on order with amazon I still havnt figured out how to take a decent digital picture of a coin yet.
Numismatic Photography by Mark Goodman Ships May 5. (As far as I know, Bill Toddman was not involved in this book.)
Jack, Pavlov would have liked me. When I read the name 'Mark Goodman' a voice in my head said 'Bill Toddman production'. Ring the bell and I'll salivate.
UPDATE Amazon sent me a message telling me they cancelled my order for the book Numismatic Photography by Mark Goodman. Apparently I did not let them know that it was OK with me that the ship date for the book was pushed back - again - so they cancelled my order. I think I will buy this book from someone else - if it ever gets published. On another bookseller's web site I noticed the ship date for this book is now June 30.
Can it be?!?! Is this book really being released after months and months of delays? Numismatic News has done a review of Numismatic Photography. It is due to be released tomorrow. (I'll believe it when I see it. This is the third or fourth release date I have seen for this book.) I don't know why it was delayed so long but I am looking forward to getting the book. I hope I am not disappointed with it (when I finally get it) after such a LONG wait. Book teaches how to capture coins I plan to buy my copy from the ANA Bookstore (where I get a member discount :thumb.
they are shipping starting tommorow. Can't wait to get mine. Maybe I'll pull a Hobo and go get a new camera when I get some cash to "play" with.
What is important to one person may not be important to another. This book may be important to someone who is serious about coin photography or who wants to improve their numismatic photographic skills. If you only take snap shots of coins and are not interested in improving your photographs then I suspect this book will not be important to you.
I understand what you're saying. While I would love to improve the photos I don't know whether I'll have the patience to actually try out what's in the book. Maybe I'll decide once there's some reviews of the book.
Thanks for the link Hobo. Is the amazon price Pre-order price? Will it increase once the book is actually available?
If you ladies and gentlemen wander over to the CU forum, I " hear " you can arrange for a signed copy from Mark !!
The book has been released! On Tuesday I was able to flip through a copy at the ANA Bookstore but I couldn't buy one because all their available copies were already sold. My first impressions were: The book is not nearly as thick as I expected. I didn't count pages but it appeared to be around 60 to 70 pages. The book is softbound. The word I had before it was published was that it would be a spiral-bound book. Quickly flipping through the book it does appear that it contains some good information. Yes, I will be buying this book when the ANA Bookstore gets me a copy.
