I could get as far as Ottawa. But, I’d love to meet anyone from my CT family.

If anybody ever heads this way, hit me up, yo.

I don’t think there are any coin shows in Ottawa, at least none that I’m aware of.

Wow I'm a little late to this party since I haven't been able to contribute lately.
I myself would love the idea. For mid to late summer at the earliest though. Is there anything in the U.S that everyone could attend?
And maybe there are some of us who could help the ones that would have troubles traveling, yes I'm thinking of Erin.

If we can all agree on a place and date with plenty of time to book flights the further out you book flights the chances of a cheaper fare is much better.
Me being in Kansas would have to fly to any show and would want to bring like my girlfriend, as I'm sure many of us would want to bring our other halves (maybe)

I too am planning to attend the ANA convention in August. As for those who have never been to one. The ANA conventions as far as ancient and medieval coins is good. I have been to two the one in Anaheim Ca (2016)and the one in Denver Co (2017). I saw a lot of really good coins. What really impressed my about these conventions over the other show I had attended were the displays. Even though most of them were not of ancient coins they were very interesting and thought provoking. I am certainly planning to be at the RCNA Convention in Calgary Alberta Canada in July of this year. I understand that some of us Canuck CT members will be there and i hope that some of you can get there as well.

As far as I know I will be at the RCNA. I still have to decide what I will exhibit this year. Hmmm... maybe coins of Domitian? :angelic:

I vote for this one. I have been to the summer ANA "World's Fair of Money" several times and it is always good for ancients. Furthermore, it has a section for dealers selling inexpensive ancients so there will be coins there you can buy, even if your budget is limited (although hotel rooms are costly). Also, Chicago has some great museums (including the Oriental Institute, which is very interesting for those who like antiquity).

Chicago in August is do able for me also. A short flight from home or a long drive, opt for the flight.

By the way, if we do go to the summer ANA in Chicago, be aware that google maps and some google searches do not find the closest hotels (which, apparently, have not paid google to put them on the map). It is almost funny to use google maps and find a dot for the convention center and zooming in shows nothing! They have blotted out the local view! Use the ANA site to download an "accommodations" map which shows hotels right next to the convention center. One even has an over-the-road walkway directly into the convention center and others have cops stopping traffic for pedestrians so it is easy to cross the road.

Thinking I might be able to do Fri and Sat with overnight on Friday. But q. does anyone know costs from airport to the hotels and back? What are normal costs for food/dinners in that area? Has anyone been there? Is anyone up to sharing rooms?

I booked my hotel today. Hyatt is right next door but it's booked. The Doubletree and 2 other hotels are across the street from the convention center, close to the airport and have free shuttles to and from the airport, rooms go from $149+fees/night.

Very interesting and intimate discussion. IMHO I'm aware that the Internet has joined us mentally and even emotionally just like in reality, "if not better". I could be a dreamer, but that's my modest and real feeling.
Anyway.. I have very close relatives in the USA and Canada who are American and Canadian citizens. We always keep in touch. My son is also planning to head from Oxford- England to Lansing- USA next month. Little by little things could become easier. Cheers and Good Luck to all of you.

I have reserved a motel room for the night of the 15th. Means I have either Thurs or Fri to see the show and meet with people. Possibility I could stay Fri night and not leave back for my home until Sat PM, but rates at hotels are steep and unless I could find something really cheap or perhaps share a room someone else is at, that won't happen.

Really would love to say hi to some of you guys/gals.

I use Waze for my mapping needs. Better than Google Maps.

I’ll be attending the BRNA show in Dalton, GA Aug 22-25. If you’re in driving distance let me know.

There are a handful of ancients dealers including Pegasi, Clein’s Rare Coins, and Ephesus Numismatics.
