Howdy folks.I hope this finds everybody doing well. Just as the title asks,,, how many of you have a 1901 Morgan silver dollar, and could it really be worth the $400,000 that they claim? I even went to the PCGS Web site and saw that they estimated the as well.
I'll be interested to get to the bottom of this, and actually so will my friend who is the proud owner of some of these Beauties. Thnx I advance

According to Q. David Bowers in the Red Book of Morgan Dollars, the C3 reverse was sharply struck as opposed to the C4 reverse which was lightly struck. The optimal collecting grade is suggested to be MS60, so any coin in MS65 should bring quite a sizable premium.

I have a 1901 Morgan. As you can see, MS is not to be found on it. AU58 is a big jump and MS goes to Mars. I do believe that many of these were melted because of the Pittman Act. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I'll have to get him to send me a pic of it. He has quite a few of them. When he was going overboard buying and collecting them, which DID seem kind of psychotic, I guess there was a method to his madness.
