I believe I found a photo of the "invisible coin". An MIT source familiar with the coin revealed that the planchet was made of a proprietary metallic hydrogen alloy. Maybe that explains why the PCGS Trueview image was removed.
Actually, there's a serious side to hydrogen-dense metallic substances (polyhydrides). For example, imagine hydrogen stored as a crystalline powder. Transport & store as easily as table salt. But right now, I think there are, um, some minor issues with polyhydride instability -- not to mention the pressures required to produce the stuff. That is, I think we're a long way from successful practical uses. In the meantime, I'm waiting for the right time to short Big Oil stocks.
