I know this is old stuff to some of you. I right now watching the Coin Collector on TV. I've never heard such a bunch of bull. There selling the Bald Eagle set of three coins all ANACS MS70 for $999. Also the state Quarter proofs all anacs ms70 for five times what you can buy them for. How come anacs grades all there coins MS70? I'm lucky if I get one ms70 out of ten I send to them. All the slabs are the new ones that have only been used about a month.
Send them (or PCGS or NGC) 1000s and 1000s at a time like the TV dealers do and see what you get. When you consider the sheer volume of mint fresh coins that go thru the grading process you have to wonder how many SECONDS of actual examination each of those coins receives in the grading process. LOL
Not only do they have to sell them for so much to cover the huge fees of grading them but it also ties up the certification companies. No wonder it takes them a month to grade one 2.50 lib that I sent in.
These types of "sellers" do send in TONS of coins for slabbing. What doesn't make the grade they dump on the market cheap to recoup grading fees. Believe me, they make good money at their prices - it's not to cover slabbing fees it's all about money.
