Today, one of my customers gave me a metal lunch box "full of coins". As an old time coin collector, I felt my heart race, and my wife chuckled. Out came the RedBook, the magnifying glass and the TV tray. Here is what was in it: 1901 O Morgan 2 IHC, 4Vnickles, 8 buffaloes, 3 silver war nickles, 6 mercury dimes 4 coin necklaces, 3 mercs, 1 quarter 53 foreign coins, most Canadian 75 wheats 4 "large" coin replicas 2 old Masonic tokens $2.83 change and... Giant $100 bill clock-real neat. NO great key coin, but still lots of fun.(It doesn't take much these days, lol)
Well, I haven't been that lucky but I get pretty excited when I see a little pile of silver dollars in an antique shop. I mean, you never know whats under the top one until you can get someone to open the cabinet.
I buy world coins in large quantity (20lbs / 30lb) from a couple of shops 1) one that only seem to care if the coins have high silver content or 2) the other only pulls crown size silver period, ignores the rest. I have a lot of fun sorting out each country then sorting out each denomination.
Lol, yeah, it happens to me too. But I try to retain my "cool" under some situations, unless of course I had an amazing find, lol. Like a 16 D Mercury Dime or 09 S VDB, then I'd probably lose it. Great finds man, sounds like you had fun just searching. :thumb: Phoenix
