I know the 1971 ike dollar proof coin is struck on40% silver. Is the regular strike also struck on 40% silver? Thanks Cecilia
As far as I am aware the circulation strike was not silver. The 40% one was sold with a premium. Also, the 40% silver Ikes were minted in San Francisco- your coin is from Denver.
This particular one looks like it contains more silver from the rim. It just looks way different then my other ones which look mostly brownish redish.
'71-S uncirculated was 40% silver (Blue Ike) '71-S proof was 40% silver (Brown Ike) '71 (P) clad (meant for circulation) '71-D clad (meant for circulation)
Normal, and common too. Mintage of over 68 million. https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-explorer/eisenhower-dollars-1971-1978-pscid-51/1971-d-1-ms-coinid-17407
