Check out this guy and the coin he has for sale. 1). Check out the coin. The guy says the coin is so rare that it's not in Krause, or maybe it's an extremely rare X number( his words ). I found the coin in Krause (yes, it's an X number) in about 10 seconds. Krause gives the coin, in MS 63 condition, a value of.....$12.00. This guy is asking $3,998.80. 2). Check out the guy. He never seems to stop bragging about himself or his coins or his coin service. To me, he seems to be a Hype-Master. 323623729339
There are a few threads about him. Here on CT Over on CCF I knew the user ID was familiar. Yes, apparently a master of hype who grossly overprices his coins. In other words, just like any of several thousand other hypemasters on eBay.
Yes, I see. He actually got on CCF and had his post removed and received a warning. Everything people say about him is consistent, the good and the bad. I didn't know he was so well known or I wouldn't have bothered. Thanks for taking the time to inform me, LM. BTW, how do I shutdown this unnecessary and redundant thread?
We don't do that unless there are extenuating circumstances. You can just unwatch it and no longer reply to it.
Check this out: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.de/ulk/itm/273755571745 No need to send a pm, the guy doesn’t really understand English. He doesn’t seem to know anything about Bust halves either lol
It seems like a high price for an Italian medal, not a coin, that graded "cleaned" on the holder. The politics and history are interesting, but the price seems excessive. I have paid less for many American historical medals that have a much larger following.
I wonder if they’re waiting for a sucker or if they really believe their coins have such high values. It’s sad either way.
I bought two Roman coins from Ilya Zlobin (then Janus Numismatics but same Ebay identifier) in 2007 and 2008, a Galerius for $25 and a Julian II for $65 which were all right.
They did enough research to know it was in the Unusual World coins catalog rather than main Krause books, so zero chance this person was honest in their price or in saying it is rare. No excuses, this is primo sleaze. Thanks for posting this, added to my ebay seller exclusion list.
