My gold type set is the NGC Short Gold Type Set. No designs that began before 1834. And my 1907 High Relief is a Wire Rim in NGC AU-50. Your MS-65 is TOTALLY impressive.
I'm still bummed that NGC limited their registry just like PCGS. I haven't spent a lot of time updating any of my sets since they made the change. I have a GSA Morgan set, Peace Dollar, Morgan Dollar and Type Set at Collector's Society. All with significant changes to be made, but I have non-NGC coins in many slots.
Keep it up, go for quality. I started a set and have some excellent moderns in mine but unless you have oodles of cash, the older ones in higher grades won't be in your collection. But. You can learn and find a coin that is good enough for you later.
Your Half Disme made my mouth drop. Nice coins..... im drooling over the keyboard just looking at them.
Type sets are great! You can start by making a trip to the bank, and getting a couple rolls of everything, then cherry pick a good example of all the common stuff, for face value. Its a way to involve the kids too. There is a whole area of fascinating coins in this genre. From half cents to 20 cents to $2 1/2 pieces. Heck, kids nowadays have probably never seen a $2 bill, Kennedy half, or ever a silver coin. They think the old copper cents are funny looking. Can you imagine seeing your first silver dollar? Types are fun, even when you get into the rarer ones. Just expensive.
My granddaughter is not quite 1 yr old. So, it will be awhile before I get to go through bank rolls of coins with her. lol
Killer stuff. I had an ngc registry set and was on the first page but quit when they no longer accepted pcgs coins. I’ve sold the majority of it as life has interfered with my collecting. That may change soon though
I’d return this coin, as there are fingerprints everywhere. Franklin halves are easy to find, even in BU grades and with decent toning.
