Smudges are on the slab. I don’t know what to say (or do) about the green crud. Thoughts?

My sharpness grade would be VF-35.

Unfortunately the "green crud" is bad news. It's PVC, and it can damage the coin. It still amazes me that people send in coins with this stuff on them. Removing it is not that hard. It also amazes me that the grading services put the coins in holders with this stuff on them. They offer services to remove it, but I guess they don't have the time to notify you, so that you can take the action to remove it.

The only solution now is to live with it, send to PCGS to have them fix and re-slab it if it can be graded or crack it yourself and fix it.

My grade is VF-35, but I can definitely see it in an XF-40 holder. The PVC was one of the first things that caught my eye

My thoughts was vf 35 but I bet it went 40 depending on when it was graded they’re so inconsistent anymore

About half of you guessed the grade correctly. Once we have returned to our Maine home I will crack the slab and soak and rinse the coin in acetone, which has worked well in the past. It will not be resubmitted to PCGS since it’s value is not high enough to justify the expense. Thanks to all for your advice.
Before posting the slab, this is the coin it replaced:
