1923 Dime Error?

    Found this today. It is pretty much the same size as a regular dime. What do you guys think?

    I think it's too flat to be a cud, probably just wear.

    It looks slightly out-of-round. If so, it was damaged outside the Mint. It doesn't look like a broadstrike.

    Yeah, the coin looks out of round right in the area of the "cud". My guess is it is post-Mint damage, probably something pinched the coin in that area pushing metal out (causing the coin to become out of round) and flattening the metal along the rim. Is the coin thinner in this area?
