My main interest is ancient coins but I got this from a bargain box because it looked and felt like something substantial. From the chrysanthemum flower, similar to those on Japanese swords, I am guessing it is Japanese. It seems to be of brass, is dated 1993 and has a reeded edge which has the repeating inscription in Roman letters, N T $ 50 and then a small diamond shaped image. Any help on identifying this coin and any value it has, appreciated.
Boy, that was fast. Does "demonetized" mean that it is no longer circulating? Does it have no monetary value? After all I invested 25 cents on this coin.
