I recently realized I have a strange 1968 Mexico Olympic coin. Normally the edge is smooth with INDEPENCIA Y LIBERTAD engraved on it. The coin in question has a serrated edge like the US quarter. This coin is the same diameter as normal but maybe a little thinner. Both sides seem like the the images are weaker than normal. I have many 1968 Mexico Olympic coins but have never seen anything like this. What could it be? How did this happen? What’s it worth? Thanks for any thoughts!!
I agree, the incomplete image of the player looks like he is wearing a surgical mask and has "skinny leg and part missing leg". I doubt it is silver. Does it attract to a magnet?
I just noticed I have 2 of those serrated/reeded in my collection. The arm cuffs are smooth unlike the legit. The feet detail is also missing. Si looks like there are a lot more around.
I remembered this video on youtube from 2017 and an earlier version with better photography from 2014, but could only find the youtube one. Very interesting. Jim
