Seen this dollar bill could be a cool one K22212288B if that 1 was a 2 or an 8 I would definitely keep it what are your thoughts?
If the first 2 was a 0, the second 2 was a 0, the third 2 was a 0, the 1 was a 0, the fourth 2 was a 0, the fifth 2 was a 0, the first 8 was a 0 and the second 8 was a 1, I would definitely place it in an auction. Chris
Why would you want to keep it? It's a spender. Nothing fancy about it and to speculate on what if doesn't change what it is.
It's a dollar. If you even remotely enjoy it, keep it, what else can you get for a dollar that is anywhere near as entertaining? You could keep all the ones you find interesting and at the end of the day have very little money tied up in it. Just don't keep it thinking it will be a collectors item. It won't. But if you hang onto a wad of one dollar notes that are five of a kind or higher, what is the harm really?
I accumulate $1 notes that have a year date at the beginning or end (from 1900 on) of the serial number. I have found about a dozen birthday notes as well. Worth anything, heck no, just face, but it doesn't cost me anything and occupies my time. Just put rubber bands around the bunch and keep them in a draw. I do the same with tripple digit serial numbers (anywhere in the serial number). For me it's fun, and that's what a hobby or obsession should be.
Get rid of those rubber bands before the bills are damaged. Get some paper wrappers from your local bank. They should be free. Much better for all.
I guess I got the replies I was looking for basically what im asking is which ones make it more than $1.00 I know radar 12344321 and binary 00010001 and birthdates 11171987 mine lol sequence 00000000 ladders 12345678 and pairs 11223344 etcetera does it just depend on the collector? Every star note ive found so far has been not been that rare. I guess ill just check out ebay for prices and whats selling
You are probably correct about the rubber bands, but I am not too worried about damaging a note that is only worth face anyway. The straps are a pain when I keep adding notes. But thank you for your concern.
