Please grade and place a value on this 1941 D Walker. This coin has beautiful mint luster with very few minor marks. Beautiful details and great eye appeal. Thanks!
I don't think you'd get $20 for it. Looks like it has minor corrosion. I'd agree with the AU details.
Maybe these pictures that aren't zoomed in so much might help. I don't notice any corrosion at all on them...oddly enough. Especially considering what they previously looked like!!
What I am surprised about is no one mentioned the doubling on the right wing??? I would like to see the coin under different lighting before thinking about a grade. That aside - It's a great looking coin with nice details and I think the doubling could help you get a bit more money if you decide to sell it. Thank you for sharing it with us! Darryl
Thanks Frank - There is more doubling on the other side as well near the mint mark. This is one of those coins I would love to see under the scope! Hope Mike sees this and comments!
Wow! Your getting me excited! I have got to get a scope. I have two microscopes and tried one of them once but it just wouldn't work. I will try and get a better picture in different light. I appreciate your keen eye!
OK. I tried again using a tripod and the auto timer to get better pictures in natural light. See what you think.
Lighting is much-much better! For the AU grade I am a little concerned about the amount a wear in the hand and in the eagle feathers on the reverse. Some of the lines in the dress are a little weak and they are supposed to be all strong for EF. A couple nicks/rubs (like her cheek) also concern me. I am no expert in this series ( or really in any other ) so I am not sure how much these things affect the grade. If I was guessing I would say high EF grade. The full shot of the reverse is a little fuzzy. The zoomed in areas are better but try moving the light around a little to show the doubling on the wing better. Great shots all the same - much better than the first group!
Hey Carl , Here's my two cents ... I think this coin is a solid MS63. I don't see any wear .. front or back. I think it's solid MS.
I'll go along with AU, and a nice one at that, would be a perfect coin for a type set. I cannot decide what pics I like best tho, I guess the 2nd set shows more of the flaws, less lustre...make it look more AUish
Vincent - I think you are being a little generous - I am no expert and it may be AU - but no way MS. Look at these areas - the hand and face especially:
