i got more goodies in thew mail today. i got my 2008 red book and blue book! finally i can do some reading and learning. and i got my silver coins i bought the other day from ebay. i have a 1922 peace dollar, 10 mercury and roosevelt dimes and two walkers. most of them are in grades i was not expecting. they're nicer than i thought they would be. i also recieved 4 partial date buffalo nickels and 3 indian head cents. and the grand total for the coins came to a whopping $38.50 with free shipping for them. i think i got a very good deal on these. the books were 24 bucks including shipping, the red book is spiral bound and the blue book is soft cover. i think i did well all around on these items. what do you think?
and when i bought them they were at spot prices and with free shipping i couldnt say no! i think i made good purchase even if just more the silver alone. i considered the nickels and indian head cents gimmes so i couldnt complain regardless of their grades.
Cool your collection is growing fast now. I rememebr a time when you didnt think you would ever own anything silver. But what are you up to now??? Like $900 face value in silver???? LOL, anyhow you are on your way. Congrats
im up to...3 peace dollars, 5 walkers, 1 franklin, 6 dollars in dimes...yeah i'm coming along finally.
Where do you get $14.21 per $ of silver. Current prices at APMEX are $13.164 (in $1000 lots) or $39.48 for his $3 face.
I get my silver values from http://www.coinflation.com/, more specifically I use their Silver Coin Melt Value Calculator which can be found here. Using coinflation.com, here is how his coins breakdown: Peace Dollar $14.85 10 dimes $13.89 2 Walkers $13.89 total = $42.63
If you can get that much for them, start buying from APMEX. They will sell them to you for $13,464.88/$1000 face
Just an FYI..... I just checked APMEX and they are selling $3 face value for $14.49/$1.00 making it a total of $43.47.
