Well this coins apperance looks like a copper or bronze. The coin is magnetic ? Just seems like most all other steel 43 " have rust or corrision or maybe a brighter apperance ?

Any thoughts of why it looks so different ?

There are 1943 Steel Cents that are copper plated.. after it left the US Mint of course. They were made as a novelty item.

Well that explains it , so the coin is real steel with a copper coating ?

Novelty, Scammers, some of these were actually copper plated and some just painted.

Wow! That is pretty cool how they let the public have their pennies dipped in 43?! Make extra money or cover up? Lol it would be great to find one slabbed:)
    just for momento.

I believe these were created years later..
Slabbed? Never! The first thing they do with any "copper" 1943 submissions is do a slew of tests. Such as the magnet test.

The steels should weigh 2.8 and the copper 3.1.
There are a million fakes for every real 1.

They were the same company who would reprocess the 1943 zinc surfaced cents to look Unc, 1000s of them also/ Customer had to provide their own cents so the company would not be accused of counterfeiting.
