How do double denomination coins that have mirrored lettering get slabed by the grading companies and graded as double denomination? I thought mirrored images were fake vise jobs.

I seen these types of coins for sale on ebay.

Do you have an example of what you are talking about?

If you don't understand how a double denomination occurs then you can't compare them to vice jobs.

Mirrored images that are incused and backwards are vice jobs..

A Cent struck on a already struck Dime is a Double Denomination.

A lot of items on ebay that are so called "mint errors" are garbage. Many sellers don't even know what true Mint errors are. That's why you need good knowledge on how to distinguish the difference.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    That's a cent struck on a dime.
Turn it so Lincoln's head is down, you'll see that the dime is not mirrored.

I also noticed a few examples overstruck on only one side? Can't remember where it was.

So being overstruck on only one side common?

I don't see how it could be overstruck on only one side, you need two dies to strike a coin.

Very nice error. How did you squire this coin, if you don't mind my asking?

Could happen, if the struck coin was on top of a planchet in the coining chamber. then it could be overstruck on just one side.

My daughter found this in purse change & wanted an opinion. I'm not versed in coin errors, it appears to have another image, which one idk. I'm unable to find out much else.

Not an error, just environmental damage.
