I posted THIS message a while back regarding PCGS not wearing gloves.. Turned into an SGS thread. However, PCGS has since started grading silver at MS70. LINK WHY? In my opinion to pull some of the business away from NGC. Why would one send their modern silver to PCGS knowing that it would not grade MS70, if they could get that grade from NGC? After thinking about this a while, in my opinion, the coin graders handling modern silver coins should wear masks to prevent contamination from sneezing, coughing and talking as well as using gloves when grading modern silver coins, especially those that they receive in U.S. Mint packaging.
If I am reading this correctly; PCGS is grading coins it would otherwise not consider? Just to take business away from NGC? So what is preventing them from grading a lesser coin at ms70 in order to please a customer and encourage one to keep sending coins thier way? I'm guessing that PROFIT and not INTEGRITY is keeping TPGs rolling along. And that includes the big 4 as well as those many here mock. Its an opinion.
There was a time in recent history where PCGS evidently said that they would NOT grade ASE's as MS70 or PR70 because there was a POTENTIAL for the coin to develop milkspots after it was placed in the holder
Where would you buy a set of those? Coinnewbie, ROTFL. :thumb: Welcome to the darker dark side. Phoenix
FedEx, more than any other carrier is the standard for shipping coins between dealers. Most of us have third party insurance that covers Fed Ex shipments.
phoenix......I need to let you in on a little secret my friend.....I invented the darkest side. Way past your so called darker dark side. I am a sith for crying out loud. From time to time, I will show flashes, but usually I keep it toned down as to not offend anyone. Ask my friends and they will tell you, I am the worst friend ever. But in a good way. Mwahhhaaaaaa. I invented this forum we call cointalk. It was originally called the Allen parsons project, but it didn't take well in testing.
you bring up an interesting thought though. Is it expensive to keep the site up and running? How does the site fund and support itself?
