This looks like an S that is inverted. I can't tell if it took a hit or is actually inverted. Thanks for any feedback.
Thanks Jim. It looks like it could have taken a hit too. I thought the lower part of the S looks smaller by design. Therefore, the question.
There are 43 rpm's for the 46 s Lincoln cent and yours is 1 of them.....go to www.varietyvista.com Some of the varieties are pricy. So you may want to do some research and come back and post your find.
Scroll down look for red tabs left side under Lincoln cents each series there are the list for varieties
This is going to be fun. I have several hundred old wheat pennies I have accumulated in the last 70 years. Maybe 200+ S Mint.
So your good to go navigating the site? All the different series and varieties. If you find something good send me one lol.
Well you never know. @paddyman98 turned me on to the "ghosts" and I have found about a dozen of them in the last few days. For 70 years I just looked at date, mint and eye appeal. I've picked up a lot of info from the members. Yes, good to go.
@Paddy54 I appreciate the lead and links. There are so many and they look so much alike. And, I exaggerated the number of 1946 S I have. It seems that I only have 16. But, I think I will have to photo each one up close and then enlarge the mint mark and then I may be able to guess which is which. I will let you know. Thanks again.
@Paddy54 I am starting on the 1946 S batch. I guessed the attached as RPM-036. If you don't mind, could you give some feedback on this guess?
Variety vista should have a mint mark style chart . You can use it to compare what you have in hand to the mm styles.
