So over the weekend I finally decided to join CONECA - The Combined Organization of Numismatic Error Collectors of America. I am now looking at all they offer on their webpage. I have been collecting Mint Errors for 34 years now and this will be a great website to see and learn more than what I have learned. Error-Scope magazine looks interesting and I am looking forward to reading all of their articles. Is anyone else here on CoinTalk members of CONECA?
I've thought about joining. I have quite a few errors, but mostly focus on off center strikes. Let everyone know how you like it and maybe I will look into it again.
i was for a year, few years back, did not renew as i had problems, had trouble accessing "members only" portions of their website, i contacted them a few times about it with no reply, also had problems with members forum, there was something else but i forget what, only thing i liked was the magazine, even tho it was only a few pages thick..
I am a member, and the archived ErrorScope issues are a great asset! My 10yo (now 11) daughter joined last year and is sometimes fascinated with some of the different errors they showcase in there.
thats what i couldn't access, the archived errorscope issues, i was in contact with them on this and could not get it to work..
I know for a while I had a problem accessing them a few years ago. I haven't had any problems, though, for quite a while. On the site currently, you would go to www.conecaonline.org and: Log in (with your member login, not your forum login) Click the link Errorscope Member Issues at the right of the top black menu. It will list the annual volumes avaiable. Select your desired volume. It will then list the colored front cover and table of contents of each issue in that volume. Click on the cover for the issue you want to read. It will load the issue into your browser for reading. If you have problems, I would start with clearing browser cached data, then try in safemode without any add-ons/extensions running in case something was interfering that way. I have had a very good response time from staff with any questions I have had in the past. The Contact Us link in the top menu takes you to a web form you can send for support, or a link to email the webmaster directly from your email client. I know it can be frustrating, like being a kid and seeing grandma's cookies in the kitchen alcove with no way to climb up and get them...
Glad to hear your error knowledge will be increasing as it should spark an even larger interest in your collection.
Not only am I am member of CONECA, but I'm probably one of the few left who was a member of the original club, NECA (Numismatic Error Collectors of America). NECA merged with CONE (Collectors of Numismatic Errors) to become CONECA I belief I joined NECA in 1964 or 1965.
I am a member of coneca . I work the coneca table at local shows . I sit with these folks ( Jim Motley & Ken Potter ) at the coneca table .
