It’s kinda hard to see but either the mint mart is really crooked or the 75 is. Holding it sure looks like the 75 is. My friend gave be a big box full of pennies with all kinds of different things wrong so I just signed up and will be posting more questions to come. Oh my question is is this rare or common or valuable, thank you

In 1975 Mint Marks were hand punched into the Obverse Die used to strike the coin. They ended up in different locations under the date.. Sometimes crooked. Worth? 1 Cent

That date on the coin is just fine.

Welcome to the neighborhood @Tschott !

The first thing you need to do is flatten the points on those staples with a pair of pliers. They can easily damage a coin in another 2x2.

You can buy a "flat-cinch stapler" at most office supply stores. They don't cost that much.

Thanks Chris, well I didn’t put them in there I just got about 100 pennies that came from my buddies grandpa. Apparently he was really into error coins. I am going through them checking them out because I collect whatever coins I can and was really excited about these. Know anything about coins that got clipped while minting?

The blanks are sometimes clipped when they are punched out of the sheet of coin metal. However, sometimes we come across coins that have been intentionally clipped by some sleazebag so they can sell them as errors.

It would be best for you to start a separate thread in this forum so people don't get confused about which coin is being discussed.

Ok will do. You can see the patina on it. Same color as the coin . I’ll start another one
