The CUD area metal wasn't pushed up to form the TRUST and other stuff ... so that's why it's missing. The planchet is a fixed amount of metal and with a large part of the die missing that section of metal was never moved to form everything. Pretty kewl to see a large cud like that. @paddyman98 answered the value

Many CT members may not look at older posts with new replies as they believe the answer was already given, and many times newer stuff may just be fluff. PM98 - it's worth $60-$75, imo, in this market - cuds are getting more attention and large cuds are bringing strong prices.....

That's such a neat find! Meow has only managed to find one minor cud CRH for a year. It would one of Meow's greatest treasures in the Cat hoard.
Normally when the US Mint recognizes a big quality problem they "stop the presses" (and change the die/s). They may grab a bunch that they see (from the top) and put them in the destroy bin, but not all of them will be pulled as that would take too much time to search for them. So a few sneak out into circulation ...
