Welcome to the neighborhood! Like the others said, it's just circulation damage. You can tell by the coin-metal that has been pushed up and out of the recess (crater effect). I haven't been to Reno since 2005. Does the Cal-Neva still have slots that pay out in real silver dollars (American Eagles)? Chris
Those were so cool! I do not belive they do any more. I knew the trick to those machines. If someone left machine a winning reel combination it would typically for me always win on the immediate next spin. So if i saw a left winner id play it and so many times id win doing that.....i used to work there long time ago. It was so cool how those machines gave you either an old ass beautiful morgan dollar or a brand new perfect quality coin!
I was cleaning this coin and it almost looks like a ghost duplicate ....granted i know this is just residue and im not thinking this an error coin but i found it kinda looked cool.
That is cool!.. You won't believe how many other new collectors would actually think it is some kind of mint error issue!
If I recall, there was one machine that paid out Morgan & Peace dollars and two others that paid out Eagles. We stayed at Circus Circus that year. Just before getting ready to leave for home, I was playing some of the multi-line video slots on the casino floor. It was about 5am and our flight left at about 7am. I was playing a 5c machine called "Wild Taxi". Of course, I always play the max bet on those machines. I put in $10, and the max bet was $1.50. On my third play, I hit WILD - WILD - 2X WILD - WILD - WILD for $1,000. In 1982/83, I used to hang out at Del Mar Station on South Virginia and play softball at Shadow Mountain. Chris
I love to gamble. Infact i just paid off my car and had myself a tooth implant because of playing keno. Best 75 cents i ever spent!
