my quarter 1964 D looks like its misprint

    Hi everyone im ridiculously new here and would just like an opinion on my quarter whats going on here with it. Sorry so far have only 1 picture up all i can manage to get on

    Your coin appears to be damaged PMD (post mint damage) not a mint error IMO (FYI) coins are struck not printed.

    The letter I in the word IN took a hit. Probably from a coin wrapper crimping machine.
    Not a Mint Error..
    As stated.. Not printed but minted/struck. Paper currency is printed.

    Ok mistrucked got it. I wasnt aware a letter could just smoosh ever like that instead of just falling off. Ok thanks for insight.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

    You'd be surprised how often we see coins like yours with damage to the letters/numbers after it took a hit to the surface.
