Anyone here ever present this token at a local Dairy Queen to get a Sundae? What was their reaction? I'm thinking I'll try it, all they can say is no. What ya think? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Free-Sunda...Wzn1dKqNrCEOLGHtRXKNSJ+QqqiGGaJA+oAhsjXwVJQKm
I actually have a couple of those. I’ll have to dig them out and post them if I can find them. I was curious what time period they’re from, but I couldn’t find a definitive answer. A cursory google search suggested they were in use from the 1970s to the 1990s.
I had one of those and used it a handful of years ago. The manager wouldn't honor it for a sundae, but did give me 40 cents off my bill for it!
I have 2 of them from a local thrift find I plan on just keeping them I did try to redeem one of them at my local Dairy Queen the manager said that they are no longer in use and not longer redeemable so I just put them cardboard coin holders and put them into my coin and token collection someday they will be worth something.
I think it’s worth more as a collectors’ item than as ice cream. There is quite a market for “good for” tokens. Some of them are pretty rare, especially the Civil War related pieces. My theory is that the issuers did not put out that many and may have destroyed the pieces he or she redeemed.
I have two from Canada , good for a free sundae or 1.00 off, can not find any info . One side is English other side French
