Hello, Ok I don't know what happened last month but some nice ancient went into my collection. I just wanted to share them with you. Tetradrachm - Philip I Philadelphos (Antioch, 88-75BC) 24mm / 15.49g Obv. : / Diademed head of Philip I right within stemma Rev. : BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΦIΛIΠΠOY ΦIΛAΔEΛΦOY EΠIΦANOYΣ // N Zeus Nikephoros seated on high-backed throne left, bare chested, holding Nike with his right hand and a scepter with his left hand, all within wreath. Mint letter below throne. Semis - Anonymous (Rome) 25mm/ 11.15g Obv. : / Head of Saturn, right, laureate; denomination mark S behind. Rev. : ROMA Prow of galley right; denomination mark S above. I think the reddish patina gives it less appeal to most of people but I like it. Caria, Rhodes - AE (ca 190-84 BC) 13mm, 1.63g Obv. : / Head of Rhodos right. Rev. : Illegible magistrate name / P O Rose within incuse square. BMC 333. I bought a small lot of bronze for the semis only but the Rhodes ae.... I fell in love with this tiny coin so it will eventually stay in collection. Moreover, it is quite scarce. Too bad the magistrate's name is unreadable, even on the british museum specimen.
Nice coins, I am still broke so going to have to hold out and not get any ancients yet. But once I am no longer broke I will get some.
All three are great coins in there on right, congrats on a good month hope the rest are just as good.
