    Hi all,

I am a total moron when it comes to coins. I came across some coins in my deceased grandmothers closet. I did a little research online and saw that a few of the coins she set aside might be worth something. Hoping someone can give me some insight in a) do I have anything of value, 2) if they are of any value, what service do you recommend for grading? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Best,

    Welcome to Cointalk!
The coins you posted are not really rare. Therefore, probably $1 for the 1980 half if uncirculated, and maybe 10 cents for the '58 D cent.

And, these coins are NOT worth grading- as grading can cost $30.
So, it's best to have a high value coin for grading.

If there are more coins, please post them, and we will help you determine their value.

The pre-1959 pennies are worth about 2 cents, and the half dollar is worth 50 cents.

PS I definitely do not advise grading any of these.

Many thanks! Is it the quality of the coins or are they not scarce?

The coins you showed have a very high mintage.

Very common coins worth face or a wee bit more. Nothing worthy of grading.
