1997 d quarter not sure

this quarter has a split at the top of the head there appears to be very faint letters between liberty letters and the right foot seems to have 4 talons just not a normal quarter thanks for your responses

Could just be a clashed die. Not extra letters but an image from the Obverse side.

Not struck over another coin if that's what you are thinking.
