Hey there. In honor of my 1,000th post, I would like to introduce you to this awesomely cool gal I hang around with. She's a little shy - spends most of her time in a safe deposit box - but we get together from time to time. Her name is Anne Bingham - model for the Draped Bust Liberty design. Here, she graces a silver dollar. Grading opinions, anyone ? PCGS certified. Photos are overexposed. In hand, coin exhibits a more even gun-metal grey tone. Slightly darker.
I can see why you want to spend some time with her, she is a classic beauty. To know who posed for the portrait is a real plus when one collects any art. So, instead of keeping her in a cold box in an equally cold bank, you could send her out here to sunny California and she would get more exposure and meet more people. ;}. Thanks for sharing. jeankay
Wow, an awesome example! :thumb: Would you be able to get some better pics though, she looks like she took a bath in those pics if you know what I mean. But, she does look like a great coin, have no idea on grading but I'll say AU? Nice coin, and congrats on the 1,000 post! :thumb: Phoenix
A bust dollar from the 1700's. It doesn't get much better than that. Congrats on 1k. You're going to have a tough time topping that coin at 2k.
Nice to meet you Anne! How was the late 1700s? I can imagine you've seen a lot, well done, for fighting for the next day this long. Your a strong one.
That is a gorgeous coin...congrats on 1K :thumb: You should send it to Mark Goodman for some decent photographs...Heritage photos are all way overexposed.
I'm gonna have to post real, real slow. Hopefully we won't have any "Adventures of Fabio and Friends" threads... that gets my post count up. Along with my pulse rate.
That is correct ! I bought it at VF30, feeling it was undergraded. Resubmitted it, and it came back VF35.
900: All I can say is WOW! That coin is awesome!!! Also, do you realize that you encoded the grade into the picture name?
