Nice Copper Cent Struck on a Split Planchet

    JCro57 Making Errors Great Again

    1960 Lincoln struck on a planchet that split before it was struck, which weighs in at 1.7 grams.

    Has a strong, full date yet is missing many details as a result of it not being thick enough to get the full strike of the dies.

    This is one of many errors that many collectors - esecially dealers - don't understand. In fact, I saw this in a junk bin and asked what he wanted for it. He looked at it and said "take it!" So, I did.

    I heard that split before struck errors are much rarer than split after struck. Nice pick!
