I've seen those before and still not sure if I like them or not. For some reason they do look like something to show off. If larger would make a nice shelf display item.
Okay Jack, I'm too lazy to start scanning so here's one from a thread I did some time ago. Is this an eror? http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0015-1.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0016-1.jpg clembo
Yup, still an error. But those zeros don't look right to me. Is there a known DDO for 2000P 1 cent with those odd looking zeros? I realize that by 2000 we are into the single-squeeze era, but still. Those zeros don't look right. Why?
Here is just about my favorite, to piggy back off of Arizona Jacks 09 VDB. Here is one I just got from Eye Appealing Coins. Great Sellers!!!
I've seen, owned, own and taken photos of some really cool cents...but this 1909-S is one of my favorites! I still own this coin and I plan on keeping it for awhile. It is graded F15 by ANACS (The OLD ANACS) Anyone know what CDN lists this coin at??? Speedy
$470/$520 in F, VF is $500/$550 XF is $580/$635 Speedy......You better send that my way just to be sure Nice coins guys...keep em comin !!!
Thanks! Near as I can remember the price I paid (2 years ago) was high at the time....but I traded some coins for it and came out ahead. The guy wanted $500 but once my trades were added into the deal I got it for less. I guess that just goes to show that the coins I like the best aren't the ones that go up the most! I mean....I paid around $700 for my S VDB and after looking on Heritage it looks like they are selling for $100-$200 more now..... I don't know---I've thought the same thing different times, but the marks on the face seem to take it down for me. The color is alittle off---it is closer to the color of the Front rather than the cleaned look of the REV pic. Who knows, maybe I'll send it in. Speedy
Quite honestly your probably right. What do you think of my 09 vdb? You think she has a shot at 66 red?
I thought I would give my "two cents" worth.....sorry I couldn't resist!! Keep in mind, that I am a fairly new collector and haven't really gotten into Lincolns....but here are two interesting (to me) ones that I pulled out of circulation this week. I like the one on the left because it is in great shape and still has lots of luster for a 59, but it is ruined by the solid fingerprints above the date and liberty. I like the 64 for it nice rainbow toning...trust me it looks a lot better in person.
Welcome to the forum Castelle The great thing about coin collecting is if on a budget, you can collect for face value, finding all kinds of interesting coins to add to your collection. Tdec, I see nothing stopping it...if original it just might, but remember, TPG's are super tight these days the rumor says
You are running me out of Lincolns, Jack. So, I will turn it another way this time. Here is my cheapest Lincoln - aside from the $9 it cost to get it slabbed, anyway. ANACS AU-53. BTW - It cost 1¢ from my roll searching 50 years ago. It used to have a some red in a couple spots - not much, but red.
