    I have a 1968 D dot with a drop down E in We. Is the dot underneath the D mean it’s a 69?
Is the dot underneath the D in this year common?

Just because there is a "dot" below the mintmark, what makes you think the date should be 1969?

Also, it looks like the motto, IGWT, received damage while in circulation which explains the misshapen "E".

Lol:) was just guessing on the dot. Trying to figure out why?

So the E can shift that much?
Just noticed now about the first T
In trust. Looks like a Y? Or did that shift too?

Yes, the bottom of the "E" can move from a slight hit. Note the small "ding" immediately to the left of the first "T". It doesn't take much to move copper around. It's the same thing for the "T" that looks like a "Y". I was just explaining this to another member a couple of days ago. This anomaly comes up quite often because someone thinks that the Mint went to all the trouble to create a "special die" with "YRUST" or "TRUSY" or (My favorite!) "LIBERYY". It doesn't happen that way!

That's why I always advise newcomers to the hobby to learn about the minting process before searching for errors. It will keep you from wasting a lot of time on obvious damage.

    That’s quite interesting, thank you.
So,no extra value with the dot?

What would be the value of this penny with a dot? Has anyone found the same penny with a dot?

Why guess when you can read and educate yourself? Guessing wastes your time and we are not on the earth long enough for that.
