Just got a bunch of coins I ordered off amazon for 15$. It's just a random assortment of world coins and I'm more just doing it to get a cheap variety, from places I doubt I'll ever go. Here is my, "Did I do good?" I haven't checked any yet, probably just gonna get them in jackets and go to bed.
$15.00? Just because some coins are very old doesn't make them valuable. 1st coin I like. It seems to have a Die Break.
Welcome to Coin Talk! I hope you received a lot more foreign coins for $15. I don't have a book for foreigns but I do have a lot of French Coins myself. If I had to guess (and it is just that), the last 3 coins would hold the most value. Like @paddyman98 said, just because they're old doesn't mean they are valuable. Plenty of good books to get to help you research the value though! Book before the coin!
I like the U.K pennys. Some are aussie pennys thats just my preference. For $15 I say it is still bad. I would pay around $6 for that or less for the lot.
$15 is just $15 and if you’ll enjoy them as much as you would spending the same amount elsewhere, then you did fine. However, selling coins in a lot is usually an easy (easier) way to liquidate those impossible or not worth the time to sell individually. It’s also a fairly common tactic to try to achieve prices well above what they’d be worth, again if sold individually. Just something to keep in mind down the road.
There were more, but only 10 uploads allowed per post so I cherry picked the ones I liked. 49 coins in total. So that's like 30 cents a coin. I do enjoy these, and the amount of time spent researching and learning is well worth 15$ to me.
Also I do have a few books. Is there an all encompassing modern world coin book you would recommend? Oh also I went through those coins and identified them. There were two silver ones, so score!
