I went to the Philadelphia Mint today and purchased the new 2019 "Special Proof Set".
The 2019-W cent is what disappointed me, I hope the cents in the others I have ordered are better.
The cent is in a poly-bay and it has a couple of scuff marks on it.

Oh wow, I had no idea they were doing this. I like it. But I see what you are talking about.

Hope the few I ordered look better than that one. No offense meant.

Yep - free reverse proof with the silver proof set and a bonus BU 2019-W with the uncirculated set. No official word on scuffs or no scuffs.

And it's a PENNY, it says so right on the packaging :):troll: (Running and ducking...)

I unfortunately just bought my set...If it wasn't for me having a kid this year, it would've been a must skip for me.

I had to get some. I have 2 more great grandchildren due this year. That makes number 18 and 19. It does get expensive.
    Congratulations.

I like the idea that the mint isn't doing the same, same same same thing that they always do and are trying to reach out to a group that is bored with their offerings. I stood in line not long after noon today at the Baltimore Whitman show to get 2 of these. I usually buy two. I don't flip. I keep them. The cents are in a plastic baggy (sealed) and they are not perfect looking. Most of these marks are on the bag from what I can see. With that said, I do like my purchase and I hope to see more! On a side note, I really like the quarter designs in this set! IMG_7007.JPG IMG_7008.JPG

Ill wait for a bit. Rather buy one on ebay. I don't like giving money to the mint lol

You are going to Whitman tomorrow, right? You should have picked your set up then! (Well I guess you want to make sure the kiddo has one and I guess it's a possibility that they would run out.)

I am. I couldn't remember if the mint sold the stuff there or not and I don't want to pay extra for this lol.

This show they do. Not sure about the other's. Have fun tomorrow! The kids section was actually busy today and as usual a good bit of people were packing up later in the day today. Remember, it's on the other side this year so the easiest way to direct anyone in there is find the otterbein church behind the convention center and if you are standing infront of that, looking at the convention center, that is the entrance you want to go in. Have fun!

Thanks. He is looking forward to it as am I. We aren't going to get there right at 10 as planned. It is going be closer to noon now. I hope there are still enough people there to make it worth while.
