Archbishops of Canterbury, Wulfred (805-32), Penny, group III, c.815-23, Canterbury, Saeberht, facing tonsured bust extending to edge, three pellets to right and three to left of head, legend commencing at 12 o'clock, +vvlfred rchtert, rev. +saberht moneta, Dorobernia Civitas monogram within inner circle (Naismith C46.2x) V. Rare. Am I correct with the attribution of this coin? I know very little about them.
Oh wow, I've never seen a bust quite like that before, that is an awesome coin @Topcat7 ! I can't help at all sorry, but I REALLY like this one!
Oh dear @Topcat7... I just don't think there's any way that coin can be genuine. It looks all wrong...
I was aware of those examples, but yours still looks wrong to me. To pick a few details: the squared-off C above the monogram is rounded on yours, the crossbar of the "N" in your MONETA is too modern looking, your flan is too flat, the wear looks wrong... show it to an expert to be sure, of course, but I'm pretty confident this is a fake, especially if you got it on ebay...
