Just won this off eBay...my capped bust half addiction is starting to get out of hand. I believe I have pegged it as o-108a which is apparently the toughest of the R3 die varieties.
Lord only knows what this old girl is going to look like in hand...photos look way overexposed or something.
Would love to know people's thoughts.

I like it from the images but the marks/scratches in the fields, worry me. Nice coin. I cut back the brightness a bit just for fun. I'll bet the coin has some nice color that we can't see in the images.

Well that's quite fun what you did there with the brightness.
I'll certainly post new photos when it shows up.

Coin arrived today. Quite the peculiar piece. Gold toning all over. Reverse is sharp as can be, but the scratch below the eagles beak detracts from it. Flatness on shield is characteristic of the die variety.
Thoughts on grade with these new photos?

108a, agreed. 119 shares this reverse, but looks like obv. 5. I'll go with EF40, some problems, but not wholly unattractive.

Nice coin. I could live with that scratch. I'm at 45 or 50.

On the reverse, I would guess a hit from another coin, not a scratch

Worth sending in to be graded? I’m leaning toward, no, since it is not a particularly high value coin in XF...
