yours looks good to me. the one I handled was too shiny. I think you and I were bidding on the same coin. looks like you won! I think its the only coin that could be considered a crown from that country.
Some new acquisitions from a recent auction: Hungary 1883KB Krajczár (1883) Pattern KM-TS29 in Nickel NGC MS65 Hungary 1886KB Copper Krajczár (1878-1888) KM-458 NGC MS65 BN 1896KB AR Korona (1892-1906) KM-484 NGC MS63 This one is top pop and a tough date for the KM-484 type since they struck the commemorative type this year as well. The best I had found previously was an MS62. Hungary 1916KB Iron 2 Fillér NGC AU58 An interesting coin. The dies are from the 2 fillér KM-481 type (1892-1915). A couple years had iron patterns for this type, this one is from the year after the type ceased being produced. It may be a trial for the successive 2 fillér war issue in iron that used a 1916 obverse from the new type (identical dies except for the date) and the reverse from the previous type, making it a die trial mule? This makes more sense since the KM-481 type had no 1916 obverse dies produced for business strikes. Pattern KM-TS51 (maybe TS52?) I don't have Krause in front of me - if anyone can look this up and verify that would be helpful. Hungary 1920KB Iron 10 Fillér (1920) KM-496 NGC MS65 A very high grade for an emergency issue. A little nicer than my MS64.
Been wanting one of these for a long time and they are kind of harder to find. Finally picked one up. These are sellers pics. It seems like most of these are low MS for 1912. I'm guessing this one is a ms62, 63 if I'm lucky. I love that this coin can be specifically tied to yukon/klondike gold.
My first post to the World Coins forum, mostly a US coins guy but I picked up this German 5 mark piece from 1936 at a flea market for 7 bucks. I thought I would share has a hint of luster on the reverse in hand.
Score, you paid just a hair over melt. I have one just like that, slightly better condition, and I paid more than 3 times your $7...you done good!
Thanks! I know the D mint mark is for Munich. I like that it does not have the swastika on the reverse. From what I have read Hindenburg was beloved by the German people.
Thanks, that's interesting. It's not listed at all. Like TS51 but dated 1916 the year after the type ended.
This little big hunk of copper came 2 days ago. About 2 cm x 6.5 mm, 17.8 g. Labeled as being from Jaipur State, India and minted 1759-1806
Looks like it is in a plastic flip now. I am seeing about XF45, Maybe AU50, might look better with a clearer photo.
