Looks like it took a hit from the edge of a quarter. Just damage.

The marks are actually doubled, and way deeper and wider then a quarter can do. I work in metal and the odd thing (to me) is that there is no scratches around the indentations

Ok, then it got hit twice... point is, that it didnt leave the mint that way.

Notice the displaced metal around the indents. This is a characteristic of some type of impact damage. Whether that's from the reeding of another coin or something else really doesn't matter, because metal displacement like this can't occur during the minting process

It's good to know that you work in metal. Does that include coin metal? How many of the gazillion coins that are in circulation have you inspected to support your theory?

If I was sure about it I wouldn't be asking for opinions, this is a discussion to gain information about a topic I am new too. thank you for your time

Then, why do you doubt the answers you are given? Many of us have seen "reed strikes" on coins thousands of times.

Because it doesn't add up, and I have 5 more less dramatic but same shape imperfection 2016 cents from separate transactions

It doesn't add up to a novice. I've only been collecting for 60+ years. If you're looking for answers, why do you keep arguing?
