Found this while coin roll hunting I don't know if I believe my eyes so just asking for some other opinions.
I don't know what makes you think it is an SMS coin, but even if it was, it's in such bad shape that it's only worth the silver content - .36169 oz. Chris
It's got a very distinct teardrop there under the four, the pictures don't accurately display the condition as they are at nearly 1000x zoom with adjusted lighting to see that lil teardrop, theres only been 10 found I believe not sure if you heard of this variety but thank you for you input.
It's called "pareidolia". That's why I dislike digital zoom. If you can't see an anomaly at 5-10x, then it ain't there. Chris
Sorry i was just uploading better pictures. I can actually see it with no zoom but here it is at 2x zoom... I've doubted it myself for awhile but it's too much of a coincidence to not investigate further. It has the black "carbon" on the bottom near the edges, the hue, and the teardrop on the 4. Here is a comparison with a quarter just to show the hue Here's one at 3x zoom, andit would be the first one found in circulated condition if there was one to be found.
Why so many people think they have 64 sms coins? Seen a lot lately on here. Research is key in this hobby...
No problem. Good way to learn is to visit often and read through all the threads. You're learning curve will be shortened.
Is this an sms?? My camera sucks but i can see a teardrop i think...check it out please tell me what you think
No you don't have an SMS. The SMS sets were found in the mint directors estate, when she died. All of them are accounted for. Yours is a normal business strike half.
No they arent...whered you hear that at lol...they were found in an estate but def. Not all accou ted for. But thanks anyway...
They were found in the ex mint directors estate. and were sold to private buyers and yes, all are accounted for. You don't have an SMS. You can keep holding your breath but it won't help.
