I have a great number of Jefferson Nickels in the 30's thru the 70's that I have pulled out of circulation thinking they might be worth saving. Many are very new looking and to me seem to be uncirculated, but when I look at the steps on Monticello most are completely worn smooth. Are any of these coins worth keeping?

Many 1938-1960 Nickels were poorly struck & full steps examples are rare. Try some pictures of some of the shiny ones,we’re old but still like to look ;)

If the steps are completely smooth then they aren't uncirculated. Try sorting them by date and mm, then check your Redbook to see which are better dates. You may want to post pics of the ones with lots of detail in the steps or are better dates for additional feedback from the group
