1974 1 Cent is this a DD ?

    Doesn´t look like a doubled die to me.

    Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

    If by DD you mean dinged and dirty, then yes. But there is no doubling on your coin, it's just taken many hits and one of them was to the 7.

    It is damaged and you can determine such also by looking at the scratches on the left side of the coin and notice they are relatively random, some horizontal, some vertical , some mixed directions. Now look on the right , the majority of the marks are vertical and seem to pass through the date, near the '4' there is rim damage. All indicate something ( maybe a tire or foot scraping it on a street or walkway) No one really knows, but it inconsistent with the minting process. Copper is soft, it doesn't take much force to disturb it.
