Found this today on my desk. Sorry about the not so good pictures but I did my best and took my time. I see strong doubling on the obverse but I dont know. I referenced Wexlers and there are quite a few varieties for this year and couldnt match up any markers.....partly because my magnification is not so good and its hard to tell if a marker is there or not. Any thoughts on this penny????
https://www.doubleddie.com When I started asking questions that's where other members told me to go. I found so much information on that site.
What got my attention was the "S" seems to have the split serif. My little scope doesnt show it but it looks like 2 letter S. The "T" and the "4" look really but it doesnt look like the DDs Ive seen....this one looks bubbly or something
Thank you thomas! I went through the 94s and couldnt find anything as far as a match. Similar spreads but none of the die markers.
What looks like 2nd S is the this softer than bronze, 100% copper plate ,split and separated, and the zinc beneath looks like a second figure, rather than just a separation it really is. Spend. Jim
