i opened all the rolls last night and did a quick sweep. i pulled out two dimes, 24 canadian, one from the bahammas, and only one wheat cent (1953)
Arg, got a box of pennies yesterday, 1/2 of which was rolls of 2019 Ds. The other rolls had about half and half pre 1980s and 2019 Ds with nothing in between. And the other week had an entire box of unc 2018 D. Blech. Still kept a few rolls for posterity Did better with halves. From one box got three clad proofs (last two nasty) - 1981, 1992 and '98, three NIFCs; 2002, 2009, 2017 all Ds, three 1968 D 40 %s and one 1964 D. My kingdom, small though it be, for a few P minted coins.
Was able to get yesterday's box rolled and trade it in for a new box at another bank Huge score, unfortunately, no silver. One 2005 impaired proof, one 2005 NIFC, or diddly/squat Have found some nifty machine doubling or something on the reverses of the 1972 Ds. This first example even has the bottom of the eagle's feathers, whereas others less so. The next has a cool spread on "half dollar". Lastly, found some with doubled 2s in the date, one with extra set of lips and nape of neck, and perhaps one with a bit on "Trust" as well. Still have a pile to go through... Meanwhile all this worth face value, heh... Such a bad hunt I had to share some of the lowlights, kind of like when my friend's girlfriend would say to him "Ew, this soup is gross, try it!".
Just finished sorting my last bag of pennies. Found 10 wheat, 3 Canadian, 5 dimes, 1 from Bermuda, 35 of the 2009 variety. And 732 copper. In the process of searching for errors and varieties. Good luck with your search.
UPDATE: i am 1/3 of the way through. it has been pretty even between zinc and coppers. i found four more canadian including a 1947 and 1944. i found another wheat 1934 (same as the coin that sparked my interest in collecting). still got a ways to go.
