    Well guys....

As fate has it I ran into another note that was on my target list this year! Here is the 1880 $1 Brown Seal Bruce /Wyman note in PCGS CHCU64. This will complement the large size collection nicely!

Just wanted to share with you all....will post better pictures when I receive the note.

Edited 02-23-08 Better pics..still waiting on the delivery of the note!

    Regards,

    Mike, Daggerjohn and Darryl...

Thanks for taking a look. The pic is not so good..it's the one my dealer sent me.
This is a pretty nice note and I am currently trying to put together a 1880 type set.. (among other things) hummm I just created another goal that will be a longgggggg time until completion! I just love the large Brown Seals..

    Thanks for stopping by...

by the time you 'finish' all your goals, you will have a complete history of every example from 1862 to present... unless of course, along the way, colonial notes start to interest you :D

That would be nice Daggerjohn....but I must say that this is getting to be a rather expensive ordeal.
My collecting taste are changing as I learn more about the history of US Currency. I find it rather fascinating to say the least. While we all know that investment is a poor choice of words in our hobby, there are notes just like certain coins that maintain their value over time.
While this is no short term plan, the ability to purchase these 10 years or more down the road, todays prices seem like a bargain!

Cant wait for the delivery so I can post better pics. I saw one of these a few weeks ago for $600 more than what I paid...that is why I jumped all over it.

How are things up in the "frozen MidWest"..man you guy's have been hit hard!
