The Swedish plate money is great but I never appreciated it as much until I held one in my hand. The pictures give you a good idea of it’s size, but you really get it’s “presence” in hand.

Those are very interesting. I like them all but especially the Chinese Dragon Plate.
Look closely at the Dragon's claws. How many talons do you see? There is real meaning behind the number of talons that are on the claws of any Dragon depicted.
3 talons is for the common people.
4 talons is for the artisans, warriors and the gentry.
5 Talons is an Imperial Dragon and can only be depicted on items owned and used by the Emperor.

That's the story. In today's modern world.....Who knows.

Here are a couple of NCLTs, shameless plugs for the collectors market. I got caught in the web, I guess.

Cameroon, 100 Francs 2017. Silver-plated copper. Commemorates Martin Luther and the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

The black square on the upper right coin is supposedly a nano-chip with the Bible on it.

my personal advice is to avoid issues from places like Tuvalu, Nieu Solomon Islands and all these Micronesia countries. They regularly come out with fantastic designs but are minted by foreign companies purely as collectible souvenirs. if you like a precious metal trinket or collectible display then it is fine. But I find the secondary collectible market and demand for these are low

So, that's gold on silver? and the tiny circle on the reverse is the descriptive/denomination?

Hey, I thought the Coin Talk !! motto was " Don't buy it as an investment, buy it because you like it. "

    Personally, I do both.
