I periodically buy $50 in Kennedy Halves and search the rolls for silver coins. This morning I found a 1969 40%. Better results than normal. I have searched about $400 and found all of 2 40% silver halves.

I also found a 1981 impaired proof. It is in tough shape. Can anyone tell me how to determine what is type I and Type II ? Just curious.

I think we my have had a thread on that, Freddy, if you'll check the archives. I forget what the criteria is myself, though, sorry...

If you can't find it, Freddy, just pm me and I'll send you a guide to discerning the difference.

Good question. I never even knew there was two types.

What was going on with these type II strikes? I know they are fairly rare, but I don't think the mint mark looks better.
